  • Evidence-based

We provide evidence-based professional development in the science of learning, the science of reading, and literacy instruction for teachers of students in Years 0-8.

  • Engaging

Delivered across three full-day workshops, our PLD is engaging and interactive. Participants gain in-depth understanding of structured literacy approaches, and how to implement structured literacy approaches in the classroom.

  • Practical

Our PLD arms teachers with all the practical skills and knowledge they need to begin implementing a structured literacy approach in their classroom.

  • Supportive

Following the workshops, we provide ongoing support through 8 x 90-minute online Community of Practice sessions.

  • Programme-neutral

At Te Wheke, we are dedicated to providing robust training in Structured Literacy Approaches that will be useful and appropriate regardless of a school’s existing resources and programmes. We advocate that you start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can, and we will support you to do so effectively.
