Life inevitably brings periods of challenge. This may show up as a specific mental health difficulty spiking anxiety or driving low mood, or may be in learning to cope with or adjusting to loss, change, or ongoing stress. For others the challenge may be contained to a specific academic area, like reading or spelling. These moments are not a sign of weakness - they are part of being human - and they are often easier to work through with the support of a skilled professional.

We provide therapy, coaching and intervention for people across the age range

Most commonly, we work with people:

  • Experiencing identity shifts following significant life events

  • With difficulties managing distressing thoughts and emotions

  • Feeling anxious, stressed, overwhelmed, burnout

  • Dealing with low mood

  • Who are after some support with their parenting style

  • Having interpersonal or relationship problems at home, in life or at work

  • Finding challenges in the day-to-day driven by neurodivergence including ADHD, or learning disorders like dyslexia.

Feeling uncertain?

You might be wondering whether your concerns are “bad enough”, whether outside is necessary, or whether Te Wheke is the right place for the kind of support you need. You don’t have to have all of that figured out beforehand - you can always call us before making any commitment to working together. Starting with an initial consult can be a helpful first step and allows us to connect directly, talk through what’s been going on, ask any questions you might have, and get a sense of how we might support you.

You don’t need to be in crisis, have the right words, or know exactly what you need before reaching out. Whether you’re looking for support, clarity, or a place to think things through, we will meet you where you are now.
